PREPARATION FOR INTERVIEW

The interview is a process by which employers come to know your personality, efficiency, goals and objectives. Interview gives you the opportunity to express your skill, knowledge and experience to the employer. This is the time when you can explain how your experiences make you the perfect and appropriate candidate for the position. You also can demonstrate your interest for the particular position as well as your knowledge about the particular organization.



Be prepared for the Interview

Needless to say, interview is a very important matter to get a job. This proves your quality and how you can sell yourself. So you should be prepared to face the interview. It will make you confident and decrease your stress. Following practice can help you in this regard.

• Before facing the interview you should have knowledge about the organization, it's entrepreneur(s) or top management, service, activities & products etc.

• Have a specific knowledge about the position you are interviewing for. Remember that you have to prove you have all the qualification to fulfill the requirements of the position.

• You may be asked to describe yourself. So you should be prepared to answer broad questions about yourself. Be sure, you will be able to give specific examples and articulate about yourself clearly and concisely. All of your responses should be positive and highlight your skills and accomplishments.

• Review your resume and be sure that you know your skills, experiences, goals, efficiency & accomplishments. You may be asked a lot of open-ended questions. Familiarize yourself with the most common questions asked by interviewer

Physical Appearance

Your physical appearance is also very important. Employers look for those candidates who are smart, confident and well behaved. Your personality will play a vital role here.

• Be well groomed. Mind it, you have to express your pleasant personality and confidence to the employers.

• Dress appropriately. Preferably you should ware business attire and that should be cleaned and ironed properly.

• Do not chew gum or smoke, it will harm your personality.

• Always take an extra copy of resume

• Be prepared to provide three references if required.

During Interview

Before you face the interview you must keep it in your mind that employers look the skilled, experienced efficient and confident persons who are knowledgeable about the position they are interviewing for and have a definite idea of their objectives and have the ability to contribute to the company. Think your self as a product; highlight your skill and intelligence. The following tips can help you in this regard.

• Listen the questions attentively first and answer each question concisely. Be prompt in giving responses.

• Show that you are willing to seek support and guidance from your superior, not dependency. Be positive and enthusiastic.

• Use good manners. Always use proper English and avoid slang.

• Everywhere there is teamwork and this teamwork is based on cooperation. Convey a sense of cooperation and enthusiasm.

• Generally at the end of the interview employer may ask you a question such as, "have you any question to ask me?" Always ask questions about the position and the organization. Keep your entire question job related. Your questions can demonstrate your interest in the position and your knowledge about the organization.
